Patil Institute of Management Studies is committed to provide all possible assistance to the students in their efforts to get employed. This commitment is demonstrated by the existence of a placement department. The benefit of this assistance is reflected in the preparation of students who are able to secure lucrative and esteemed positions in recent years. The Training & Placement service operates round the year to facilitate contacts between companies and students. The Placement Team is available to respond to student's question and concern of all kinds. This may include advise on placement procedures, help with preparation of applications and resumes and practice for interviews including varied career choices. The aim is to ensure that students have the information and skills necessary for an effective job search and industry interaction. Those considering careers in desired sectors or related fields are offered career guidance by the Placement Cell. Guidance is based on up-to-date career opportunities along with future industrial/sectoral trends. The vision of the Placement Department is to ensure enhanced employability and awareness of sectoral shift for varied employment opportunities. Industry Institute Partnership forms an important activity for any academic institute as its stakeholders interact with the real world:- - The students are benefited by exposure to current industry practices. - Update their skills when changes are hinted by shifting in job market - Faculty participants to get sensitized on the latest practices to blend it with theory. On successful interaction, Industry has realized that academia has more to offer. This is possible by assuring technical business and people process challenges. This helps to provide a manpower resource pool with good industry orientation. It is a source for updating the knowledge and making students more competent. Companies are placing growing emphasis on finding the ‘right talent’. It forces the business schools to think more creatively on the role of industry and its participation. There are three key factors that are driving the trend toward industry institute interface they are: - Development of competent and capable workforce - To deliver quality coursework. -To build increased competitiveness in student by delegating unique differentiation skill sets. We at DYPIMS believe that apart from the day to day guidance given to our students in their various disciplines, it is also necessary to groom them for future career options in the industry. Our Institute has come up with this unique programme this year with the objective of enhancing the Competencies of our Students for better placements and overall development. The program includes activities that improve student’s awareness and identity, develop talents and potential, build human capital and facilitate employability, enhance quality of life and contribute to the realization of dreams and aspirations. The concept is not limited to self-help but includes formal and informal activities for developing the students, in future roles such as teacher, guide, counselor, manager, coach, or mentor. She has prior work experience of 11 years out of which, nine years were in Education Industry in managing a gamut of activities including Placements, Training & Development, Marketing & Recruitment.. In education industry, she has played a significant role in Training and Placements function of organizations such as ICFAI, Hyderabad and All India Management Association (AIMA). A Glider Pilot, paratrooper and a sportsperson, she is also a Certified Mentor, accredited by City & Guilds, London.Prof. Taruna Sharma (Lecturer cum IIP Officer) ![]() Prof. Taruna Sharma, M Com - Management (2008), MMS - HR (2010) is an alumnus of Mumbai University. She has a prior work experience of 2.5 years and has worked at companies like Morarjee Textiles, Times of India and ACTS India Consultancy in HR department. She is working with Padmashree Dr. D. Y. Patil Institute of Management Studies, Akurdi as a Lecturer cum IIP Officer since November, 2010. Her contribution is in the discipline of Human Resource Management. She is currently perusing her Diploma in Training & development from ISTD (Indian Society for Training & Development), Delhi. Her aim is to excel in the field of academics with the help of innovative teaching with focused efforts towards imparting and imbibing a learning culture in the Institute and to make the students of the institute employable. Prof. Meenal Rao (Assistant Professor cum CDP Officer) ![]() Mrs. Meenal Rao, B.A., M.B.A is a alumnus of University of Pune. She has a total work experience of 10 years out of which she has spent 7 years in Industry and 3 years into Academics. Her contribution is in the field of Human Resource Management. She has as industry exposure in Human Resource Management with special focus on Recruitments, Performance Management, HR Policies and Procedures.Has worked with Garware Wall Ropes Ltd. Pune and Northwest Consultancy and has exposure to recruitments for Pharma, Engineering, Infrastruture and Manufacturing companies .She is highly adaptable, outgoing with strong interpersonal Skills. Prof.Meenal guides students in the field of Human Resource Management / Industrial Relations with focus on Competency Skill Development. Prof. Asha Rao (Assistant Professor cum Training Officer) ![]() Dr. Asha Vijai Rao, B.A., B.Ed., M.A.(Hindi English and Sociology),Ph.D. is the alumna of Agra University, S.N.D.T. Women’s University , Mumbai, Pune University. She is a teacher and has worked in India, USSR (Russia-Moscow), and Oman and China. She is working with Padmashree Dr. D. Y. Patil Institute of Management Studies, Akurdi, Pune as an Assistant Professor. She is currently pursuing ‘International Diploma Course in Guidance and Counselling’, conducted by Regional Institute of Education (NCERT), Bhopal. |
