Alumni

OUR VALUED ALUMNI

The Institute has a registered Alumni Association. Currently, 1000+ alumni are registered with the Alumni Association. Major contributions made by alumni for the development of the Institute are in the areas of providing guest lectures, summer internships and final placement opportunities. The Institute maintains a Facebook group for the Alumni Association. Alumni are invited to attend various events organized by the Institute and to interact with the Institute’s Governing Body during the annual induction program.

DYPIMS ALUMNI ASSOCIATION (AA-DYPIMS)

Alumni Association has been formed by the Institute with prime motives to facilitate student’s movement towards developing better personalities, developing good liaison with industry and trade, developing entrepreneurial skills, extend help to follow students for placement, etc.

Alumni Association is headed by, Director as Chairman of the Association with Dr. Kunal Patil as Secretary and Prof. Somnath Hadalgekar as Treasurer and nine alumni students as members. The Alumni association of DYPIMS has been registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1860 vide registration no. MAH 457/2010/Pune dated 25/02/2010. Presently there are more than 1000 registered members in the alumni association. Two Governing Body meetings and one General Body meeting are conducted every year to inform the alumni about various activities conducted by the Institute and to seek their advice to strengthen the Institute.

Major contributions made by alumni in the development of the Institute are in the areas of providing summer internships and final placement opportunities and conducting guest lectures for current students. The Institute strives to strengthen its relationship with the alumni and promote increased participation in the functioning of the Institute.

At DYPIMS, it starts even before graduation day. It may begin as a request for a Senior Gift, or as a gathering to enlighten each senior about the importance of alumni giving to the school. Regardless of how it is first introduced, the immediate goal for DYPIMS is to quickly get graduates into the habit of giving back to the school. The ultimate goal is to sustain that generosity for a lifetime. A true indicator of the love for and loyalty to one’s alma mater is the extent to which one is willing to support it. It also happens to be a reliable indicator of excellence. As it turns out, the graduate contribution is a very good barometer of how alumni view their Institute.

There are many reasons alumni give back to their Institute:

  • To show appreciation for education and development, the school provided them
  • To provide others with a similar experience
  • To stay connected to the college community
  • To reap the social and emotional benefits associated with being a donor.
  • We at DYPIMS cannot thank our alumni enough for their contribution towards conducting mock interviews for the current batch. They bring with them a wealth of knowledge as it exists in their field of work. They help our students with the know-how of how to crack interviews during the final placement process.

Alumni meet is a gathering of passed out students of an institution and it is a place where the institution feels proud on seeing its successful alumni. It is an incredible reunion of alumni, students, faculty and staff members at the campus of DYPIMS. Its main aim is to reach as many students as possible and enable them to remain connected with Institute in order to promote stronger connections.

The alumni are thrilled to be back in the campus again and interact with new students. The Alumni Association provides a platform for sharing alumni’s career and professional experiences with the present students and other alumni. During the alumni meet, the alumni members shares their experience in the outside world, which they faced after stepping out of the institution.

The objective of the meet is for our students to interact with the Alumni to learn from their experiences they have had in the corporate world, in order to be well prepared, in advance.

On the alumni day, event starts by welcoming all and a forum for the Alumni to share their journey and challenges faced by them during their interviews, experiences of work culture by faculty and non- faculty staff of Dr D Y Patil Institute of Management Studies.

Then the General board meet agenda is presented by secretory of the Alumni Association, its main points being, appointing statutory auditor for the financial year, to discuss budget of financial year and few other areas of engagement of the Alumni with our students.

For the remaining day, all alumni members walk towards the hotel, for lots of exciting activities, surprises, gifts along with dancing, singing, group dance etc. are arranged by the current students. The Institute engage all Alumni to participate in fun filled activities, conducted by faculty member and students, which follows by sumptuous Lunch and DJ.

The purpose of this event is to sensitize the Alumni to be mentors and give their support so that our current students can climb up the ladder with confidence, and made sure the participation of the ex-students, grow in number in the coming Alumni meet.

Welcome DYPIMS Alumni !

Students, past and present, are what any Institute should be all about. Faculty and staff are vital as well, but students are unique in that they will forever fill a role - whether they are current students or long graduated. It would be easy to lose track of most graduates after they embark on their various careers, but doing so would be a huge mistake on any Institute’s part.

Why? Because they create the Institute’s reputation, which relies in large part on how successful graduates are in the real world. This process is self-feeding as well. If an Institute becomes well known for producing graduates that are intelligent, innovative, and effective in their fields, then its reputation will grow. New graduates will have better job prospects because they went to a well-known school, and the process will continue.

A key factor in college and university rankings is the amount of alumni participation they have. This isn’t surprising, considering an active alumni base generally indicates that past graduates feel like they had a quality educational experience. Attending a school with very active alumni also often encourages current students to remain involved and active after graduation, once more perpetuating a good cycle.
