Council for Sustainable Peace and Development (CSPD) is incorporated by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs in Pursuant to sub-section (2) of section 7 of the Companies Act, 2013 (18 of 2013) and rule 18 of the Companies (Incorporation) Rules, 2014].
One of the objectives of the Council is to promote, support and work in line with United Nations’ guidelines and policies in relation with Sustainable Peace and Development by establishing multipurpose Centres nationally and globally for different charters/ fields. One of the charters is Quality Educational Development.
Another objective of the council is to facilitate, commence and participate in standardizing the Affiliation, Certification, Accreditation, Fellowship and Professional Excellence processes for different Sectors.
In accordance with the objectives of the Council, it has been decided to establish the Post-Doctoral Fellowship Centre at Dr DY Patil Institute of Management Studies, Akurdi, Pune, (Maharashtra).
Objective of the Post-Doctoral Fellowship Centre (PDF Centre)
Eligibility for Applying Post-doctoral Program
Age Limit
The upper age limit for Post-Doctoral Program is 55 years at the time of the submission of application. (As on the date/ last date of application). There shall be age relaxation for SC/ST/OBC (Non-Creamy Layer)/Women/PWD (Persons with Disabilities) and Transgender for 5 years.
Selection Procedure
The postdoctoral programme will have the admission process batches commencing from the month of July or January of each year. A selection Committee shall be constituted for selecting the Post-Doctoral fellows, in the light of appropriate standards.
Constitution of Selection Committee
The screening cum selection committee will interact with the applicant to ascertain his/ her interest in pursuing the post doctorate and recommend the candidate for admission if found suitable. The evaluation includes the candidate's accomplishment at the Ph.D. level. If the candidate has already applied for Post-doctoral Program and has been declared as unsuccessful, he/ she is permitted to apply again with new research proposal only after one year from date of declaration of result for that Post-Doctoral Program. Incomplete applications such as un-formatted documents, false/ misleading information etc. shall be summarily rejected.
Post-doctoral Fellows Tenure
The appointment of Institute Post-doctoral Fellows is for period of 2 years that can be extended to a maximum period of another 1 year based on the approval of the Chairman of the PDF centre that is Director/ HOD/ Principal of the Institute. In deserving cases PDF thesis/ final report even can be submitted after the completion of 1.5 years subject to approval by the Select PDF committee so appointed by the Center to consider the same. The institute will finally allocate the guide to Postdoctoral fellows based on the outcome of the Expert Committee recommendations on the topic and area of their interest. PDF fellow should have had detailed discussion on the title of Research with his guide before finalization of the topic. PDF scholars will also have Industry Mentors who can be referred/ chosen by the scholars or will be allotted by the PDF centre from its pool of Industry Mentors.
Who can Guide/ Mentor a Post-Doctoral Fellows
Merit based Scholarship
Selected candidates will be eligible for the merit-based scholarship. Decision of Merit based scholarship shall be taken by the committee constituted by the Principal/ Director/ Head of the Institute authorized by the council. The following scholarship is offered by D. Y. Patil Institute of Management Studies to all the students as per their research potential and performance at the interview.

The research center in DYPIMS follows the rules laid down by Savitribai Phule Pune University for admission into the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.).
A candidate desirous of taking admission needs to appear for the test conducted by University Departments or Research Centres authorized for the purpose. No separate test will be conducted for other affiliated colleges/recognized institutions.
The list of candidates declared successful in Paper-l will be published by the P.G. Admission Section of the University. Results of Paper-2 will be declared by the respective University Department/Research Centre and a copy of the same will be sent to the P.G. Admission Section of the University. Candidates will have to mention the University Department/Research Centre of their choice for the admission. The interview and the guide allotment will be done as per the rules for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.)
